‘Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. ‘

Acts 4:13

Bible study was on fire this morning!

And guess what?

I almost missed it!

Brother Jay spoke from several verses.

But I want to highlight this one.

Why?

Because I had an encounter with it this week!

Sometimes we can become prideful.

Because we are trained.

In a certain industry.

Or we have years of experience.

And expertise in a subject matter.

I’m not saying it’s bad.

To be great at what you do.

For scripture tells us.

‘Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men.’

Proverbs 22:29

However.

We must remember.

The simple instructions.

From Our Lord.

Jesus.

To humble ourselves.

And not let our work.

In the world.

Bring pride in our heart.

And think we are better than others.

For scripture tells us:

‘Also He spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: “Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other men—extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax collector. I fast twice a week; I give tithes of all that I possess.’ And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”’

Luke 18:9-14

Please pay attention.

To the ending.

‘I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”’

Luke 18:14

Humility is the way.

What you do.

In the world.

Won’t save you.

When it’s time.

To leave this world!

I love you!

And pray your day is blessed!
